Inspiration Shoot: Parisian Daydream - Romantic Wedding Inspiration

Puff sleeves, trailing wisteria, a beautiful Mansion setting and magical woodland ceremony. This shoot is Parisian ambience, Bridgerton-esque romance and innocence intertwined and unbelievably beautiful for a Friday morning! We hope you’re ready for the ultimate romantic wedding inspiration with this stunning Suffolk mansion wedding shoot…

gold leaf table setting

Is there a better suited table setting for an elegant Georgian mansion wedding venue, than one dripping with decadence and gold statement pieces!? We think not. Our first reception set up was within one of the glorious drawing rooms at Wherstead Park. We created a bold elegant look, that combined some modern elements (just look at that beautiful cutlery!) with some classics. The gold wreath charger plates make for an undeniable statement of luxury, which we softened with the relaxed tied napkin. The modern gold and white cutlery provides juxtaposition, yet still compliments the look, tying together the white linen, gold charger and classic gold rimmed glassware. It’s romantic, vibrant and utterly enchanting as an intimate mansion reception set up. All pieces provided by Banqueting Hire.

Macaron Wedding Cake

A little touch of Paris, the macaron tower is an elegant French classic. The mansion at Wherstead Park has the most beautiful, ornate, pastel décor, which I instantly felt was reminiscent of 19th Century Parisian grandeur. This fuelled my inspiration for this delicate, dainty and romantic shoot and made a Macaron tower wedding cake and absolute must! This gorgeous Suffolk mansion wedding venue was transformed into a château! Thanks to El at The Gourmet Cake Company for helping me draw on that Parisian inspiration further by creating this decadent macaron tower wedding cake.

Bridgerton Inspired Bridalwear

A moment of appreciation for this gorgeous bridalwear from Alyce Jayne Bridal! I knew I was going to be drawing on the country’s obsession with Bridgerton within this shoot! We had the dreamy mansion venue as our backdrop, complete with promenade-worthy rose pergola, exquisite staircase ready for a entrance that would become talk of the ton, and a stunning grounds and woodland. So all I needed was some equally stunning bridalwear that could bring grace, beauty and drama. The perfect modern take on a classic look. And then I found Alyce Jayne Bridal, based in Glasgow, somehow marrying dramatic bridal looks with wonderfully whimsical styles. Her pieces are genuinely unique and undeniably beautiful. We can't thank Alison enough for lending us these two modern, romantic and rebellious looks from her collection of gowns and two pieces, they were everything I had dreamed of for this shoot; puff sleeves, bold corseted bodices and layers and layers of tulle! Intimate outdoor wedding reception

Just picture a fine dinner for your nearest and dearest, beneath the eaves of a rose pergola, beside a stunning mansion house. It feels more than idyllic and frankly far away from England! Yet here it is, this little hidden gem on the country estate of Wherstead Park. So it was our pleasure to create an exquisite al fresco reception of dreams in this fabulous location. We added a trailing wisteria canopy to the rose pergola, making it a floral tunnel fit for royalty. Keeping the table fairly simple, so we could focus on the floral impact surrounding the set up, we dressed the table with soft modern neutrals; delicate greys and stone colours, using textured linen and patterned crockery to add depth and interest. The key thing is not to overcomplicate, we allowed the flowers to take centre stage and ensured an elegant simplicity kept the look luxurious and romantic.

How we created the look:

Limewash Phoenix chairs

Natural table linen in ‘Natural Grey’

Stonewash runners in ‘Oatmeal’ with matching napkins

Antique cream china charger plates with lace pattern

Gold cutlery

Gold rimmed glassware

Finished with stationery from Lucy McSpirit Design featuring blush wax seals

All tableware, linen and chairs were provided by the wonderful Banqueting Hire.

Mansion Wedding Venue

A special thank you to Wherstead Park for letting us work in their beautiful venue. With 17 acres of stunning mansion grounds, a breathtaking Georgian mansion perfect for ceremonies and receptions, the rose pergola (the most amazing setting in our opinion!) for intimate dinners and receptions, it truly is a hidden gem of wedding venues in the Suffolk countryside.

Woodland Ceremony

We were delighted to make use of Wherstead Park’s newly launched woodland ceremony space. Their statement log bench seat is breathtaking in itself, we added a fairy light backdrop and made this the ultimate setting for a twilight woodland ceremony. Their woodland with ancient oaks is a truly stunning space for a boho woodland ceremony. We created an enchanting wisteria moongate in another area of the wood, perfect for a whimsical summer ceremony. Thanks to Dreamwave Group for the lighting, Fancy Faux Silk Flowers for the moongate and Wooden Bench Hire for the seating.
