Real Wedding: A starry-eyed, back garden Bohemia - Marquee Wedding in Northamptonshire
Floral arches, sparkling lights adorning the trees, a canopy of vintage lampshades and the most wonderful, loving couple. As we find ourselves in a time where weddings aren’t currently possible, we are so grateful to relive and share this stunning Northamptonshire marquee wedding with you, that took place on a glorious summer’s day last year.
Helen and Nick reached out to us as they were looking for some support for their private marquee wedding, that was going to be happening in the garden of her parents’ home. It’s no secret that we love a marquee wedding, we’re lucky enough to have visited some amazing places across the UK to help create a ‘wedding at home’ for our couples. With all the extra logistics involved, we are always more than happy to come on board to plan, style, and coordinate a private marquee wedding. From our very first consultation with H&N, we knew that their already amazing plans for a back garden wedding were going to create a fantastic boho wedding and we just had to be a part of it!
Garden Wedding Ceremony
We so enjoy creating garden ceremonies for our couples, transforming a space into the perfect wedding setting. But if we are honest, the gardens that would become the backdrop to Helen & Nick’s day hardly needed transforming. To suit their relaxed country garden wedding style, the addition of a floral arch, some hay bales and barrels filled with blooms were perfect in front of the glass green house and completed the ceremony set up.
Garden Games
We’ll keep saying it, Helen’s parents’ garden was a truly gorgeous setting. Perfect countryside views ready to backdrop portrait sessions at any time of day, lawns for games and a charming terrace for the drinks reception. We were in charge of keeping the day free-flowing and running smoothly so H&N and all of their guests could enjoy a really relaxing summer’s day of celebration.
Private Marquee Wedding
For us the beauty of a private marquee wedding, is the flexibility. Creating lounge areas, dining spaces, dance floors and bars, styling them with flowers, lighting, tableware and furniture that perfectly harmonises with the theme. Helen & Nick’s was no exception, the main marquee and secondary space within the tipi created a boho, romantic and utterly beautiful reception.
Natural Wedding Photography
The day was perfectly captured by Claire Penn (thank you for these beauties!). As the evening drew out, live music took all of the guests into the party spirit, but with the sun setting Claire headed out to the trees with Helen & Nick, to get what have to be our favourite images from the whole day. The canopy of lamp shades hung around them, the pea lights hugged the branches behind, lighting this twilight shoot, and the results are truly magical.
Helen, Nick, it was an absolute pleasure to support you on your wedding day, we want to wish you the absolute best for a long and happy marriage - and we cannot wait to reunite with you both as we support your sister on her wedding day!
