Real Wedding: Californian Boho styling meets the English Countryside

This beauty of a wedding is the perfect marriage of English garden weddings and Californian sun-kissed bohemia. Ben and Kimberlee are a stunning couple, with a beautiful story to tell and it was amazing to be a part of their wedding.

When our work with Kimberlee and Ben first began, they were based state-side - Kimberlee’s home. This wonderful couple had reached out for some support as they had plans to host their wedding in Ben’s Aunt’s garden here in Suffolk. With the venue being in one place, parents in another and the bride and groom the furthest away, in America, supporting the logistics, bringing our expertise and final on the day support and coordination was a must. We stepped in, joined for some planning progress and help to deliver this beauty of a day.

Beautiful church wedding

The Church of All Saints in Brandeston, Suffolk was the setting for the first formal proceedings of the day. Vows were exchanged along with rings, tears and smiles were embraced and we organised a confetti exit (with the support of some helpful groomsmen!) for guests to enjoy before walking to a stunning formal garden next to the church for the cocktail reception.

Rustic Californian Wedding

From our discussions with Kimberlee and Ben, we knew a low-key, rustic vibe was important for the whole reception. It perfectly honoured the Californian inspiration Kimberlee and Ben wanted to be present throughout their day. This was immediately present when the guests took the short country walk from the cocktail reception to the marquee & garden reception. The live music had everyone dancing straight away, while drinks continued to flow.

Boho Marquee Styling

The stunning blooms kept the Californian theme going, with soft pinks and oranges paired with lots of greenery. The floral styling was the work of Kimberlee’s maid of honour. The hanging foliage in the marquee was something we discussed at one of our earliest planning meetings, we love getting stuck into design concepts with our couples and this one came off beautiful. The marquee was a warm inviting space, oozing a boho, sun-kissed, Cali style.

Vera Wang Bridal Gown

One element of a wedding that we always get exciting about is the attire, and Kimberlee’s bridal squad did not disappoint. The bridesmaids were in a beautiful mix of velvet dresses and chiffon dresses, again crossing that quintessentially English wedding style with an American contrast. Meanwhile Kimberlee, it is safe to say, was an absolute knock out in her long-sleeved, lace gown by Vera Wang, from David’s Bridal in the USA.

Sparklers, spectacular music and dancing into the night are a fitting close to this fabulous wedding. It was a joy getting to know Ben, Kimberlee and their families and to support them all on this truly stunning day.
