Real Wedding: Sing-a-longs and Copper Tones in this Romantic Rustic Affair
Easily one of the coolest couples we know, Gemma and Tommy were so much fun to work with. Gemma designed a beautiful day that we were delighted to deliver and Tommy gave us one of the best testimonials ever when at the end of the night he said ‘You two are legends, first I’m going to hug you and then I’m going to tell you why’! When Gemma told us she worked in TV production, we knew she’d have some brilliant design ideas for her wedding day, and she certainly didn’t disappoint! From the first time we met, we knew the wedding was going to be gorgeous and couldn’t wait to help Gemma and Tommy bring it all together.
Sparkling rose gold shoes, green tweed, a two piece wedding dress - we just adore every little detail and thought behind this wedding. Each and every element, whether that was clothes, accessories, decor or stationery worked perfectly together.
Alpheton Hall Barns was the perfect rustic setting for Gemma and Tommy’s day. Gemma first discovered the venue via Lily Pebbles, a vlogger who married at the barns a few years ago. With the help of Dreamwave Events and Gemma’s vision, the barns were transformed into a copper infused haven. Foliage played a huge part in the styling of the day, dressing the ceremony and reception barns, as well as featuring heavily in all the bouquets.
The first show-stopping moment was the surprise sing-a-long at the end of the ceremony. Everyone was given a sealed envelope which they were instructed to open once Gemma and Tommy were pronounced man and wife, it revealed a lyric sheet for Hey Jude, we ‘Hit It’ and what followed was an awesome recessional!
If we could only pick one word to describe this couple and their wedding, it would have to be fun! The joy on everyone’s faces (and ours!) throughout the day was so clear, and Teri captured it all so well. The second show-stopper was the entrance to the wedding reception, where a light show and choreographed waiters served wine to ‘Be Our Guest’ from Disney’s Beauty and the Beast, and we drew back the curtain to welcome Gemma and Tommy to the room…that beats a Toastmaster any day!
Ending the night with the awesome Jupiter Ray was the perfect icing for a delicious day. Pulling this one together was great, every team player did their bit to make one excellent vision become a reality. Thanks to that A-Team for all your hard work!
