Planning a Perfect Micro-Wedding
Large celebrations, medium sized weddings for friends and family, intimate weddings for your nearest and dearest - they’ve all aways existed within the UK. We’ve worked on the most beautiful weddings for 35 and have equally created outstanding weekends of celebrations for 200, but undeniable impact of Covid-19 on the country and indeed the whole world has really shone a spotlight on the micro-wedding.
Currently in the UK, weddings for a maximum of 30 guests are permitted and due to the tighter restrictions defining this version of a wedding as a ceremony followed by a sit down reception, this new breed of wedding has be coined The Micro Wedding. With the absence of the party and many other elements you might usually associate with a wedding, it’s easy to feel as though this form of wedding can leave you short changed. So we’re here to help you adapt to these new stranger times and plan a perfect Micro-Wedding.
Micro Doesn’t Mean Minimised
Okay, so literally it kind of does! But on the scale of your celebration and the joy you and your guests will feel, it doesn’t! Just because the occasion has become more intimate in scale, the celebration itself does not need to be diminished. We recommend making use of those table-based activities, games and dinner party vibes to inject some joyful festivities into the event. Trivia, interactive guest booking, where each guest has a sheet to fill in that will be bound together to create a guest book, passing the Polaroid camera or even throwing in the classic Mr & Mrs game!
Micro-wedding decorations
Micro in purpose, not in size: It’s easy to feel as though a reduction in scale needs to bring the whole wedding into a reduced phase. It doesn’t. Intimacy and opulence go hand in hand. Bountiful floral displays, an abundance of candle light, the best linens, finest crystal and presentation. Focus on the details because you will have the time to sit, revel in and enjoy more than you would during a larger scale affair. Make the decor a focus and feature not to be missed. After all, your budget can go further with only one table to dress!
A dining experience
If the party element has to be removed, as currently is the case, why not make that exquisite wedding breakfast the true main event. 7 or 8 courses of the finest food, paired with the perfect wine to savour. Take time, spread the service over several hours, enjoy the company, the food, celebrate the commitment you’ve just made. Indulge yourself and your senses in a real feast.
A micro-wedding does not have to be a mini celebration. The occasion you have gathered for is worthy of proper note and real festivities and there is no reason why a micro wedding means any of that should change or be diminished.
