  • Ask for help – Part a) you have great friends that you have asked to be your maid of honour and best man, they will be delighted to take on some responsibility so assign a task to them and take the heat off yourselves…that’s what they’re there for! Part b) Hire a professional wedding planner to take care of everything for you, whether you need someone to support you from day one, to create your day with you, or you just need a helping hand on the day. A wedding planner will take away the stress and ensure you and your guests have the most relaxing day possible!

  • Don’t worry about the weather – there is one thing that you can never plan and that’s the weather, you can prepare for it though. Have a few umbrellas in case of rain and some sun cream handy in case you need it.

  • Get contracts in writing – don’t make verbal contracts with suppliers, ask for something in writing. An email confirming exactly what the supplier is providing should suffice.

  • Don’t wait until the last minute for anything – you have been planning for this day for a long time, don’t wait until the night before the wedding to start making 100 favours! Get everything done well in advance and make time to relax before your big day.

  • Visualise your perfect day – when you find yourself thinking about all the things you have to do, its easy to get overwhelmed, try and take a few moments to visualise your wedding day. Imagine walking down the aisle, imagine sitting at the table for your wedding breakfast, your first dance as a married couple. Visualisation can really help calm your nerves.

The most important thing to remember is that you are marrying the love of your life, and at the end of the day, that’s all that really matters.

Happy planning!
